        • Go to Scratch and log into your account and then click the Ideas tab which is on the upper part of the screen, just to the left of the Search bar
        • Scroll down to the bottom of the section of the page labeled Activity Guides and then click the blue bar with "See All Tutorials" on it 
        • Choose the tutorial called Create a Story and go through it to learn how to tell a story using Scratch
        • Now that you know how to tell a story, you will need to go to the Tell a Halloween Story Project Guide to know what the requirements of the project are so you can begin creating your story in Scratch. 
        • Be sure to save what you have done at the end of the hour





        Tuesday

        • If you have finished with your Tell a Halloween Story Project from yesterday, please see the information below to start today's work 
        • Go to Scratch and log into your account and then click the Ideas tab which is on the upper part of the screen, just to the left of the Search bar
        • Scroll down to the bottom of the section of the page labeled Activity Guides and then click the blue bar with "See All Tutorials" on it 
        • Choose one of the tutorials that involves creating a game.  Below are the ones you can choose from:
          • Make a Chase Game
          • Make a Clicker Game
          • Pong Game
          • Animate an Adventure Game
        • Once you choose one of the game tutorials, following the video tutorial provided to create the game -- you can get headphones from the box on the floor behind my desk if needed
        • Be sure to sure your work by choosing File>Save Now (if File>Save Now is not an option, choose File>Save to your computer
        • When you finish one of the above game tutorials, try another
        • You should be doing Scratch tutorials or just playing around on Scratch for the full hour


        Wednesday

        • Once you have had an opportunity to learn how to make a couple different game in Scratch using the tutorials mentioned above under Tuesday's work, I would like you to do the following
        • Create a Halloween based game:  you could be searching for candy, catching ghosts or goblins, creating an adventure game where you have to collect Halloween items - or you can come up with your own ideas

            • If you were not here Monday, go to Monday's directions and set up a student Tynker account.  If you do not indicate you are 13 years of age, you will need to put in a parent email and have them approve it. 
            • Log into your Tynker account and make sure you can see the Programming 300 class that I assigned you to.  We will be working our way through these lessons at your own pace.  The beginning lessons are very basic and you should quickly be able to breeze through them.

                  • Learn how to animate your name using Scratch by logging into CS First 
                  • Choose Animate a Name and click Start to load up the project videos
                  • We will watch the first video together 
                  • Click the Starter Project link to the right of the video and then log into Scratch 
                  • Begin watching each of the videos and practice each of the things the video is showing you how to do -- once you have been through the videos and practiced each, you will be creating an animated name



                  Tuesday

                  • Read over the Animate a Name Project requirements - you can use the links on the project page to get to the videos to learn how to animate in various ways
                  • Log into Scratch 
                  • Click Create to start a new project
                  • Change the name of the project to Animate a Name
                  • Begin working on your project and remember to click File>Save Now periodically to save your work



                  Wednesday

                  • Continue working on your Animate a Name Project by logging into Scratch 
                  • When you think you are finished, please look over the project requirements linked above
                  • Make sure you saved any changes and do the following to share your project with me
                    • Go to the My Stuff icon next to your user name 
                    • Click on the title of your finished project 
                    • Hit the Share button, and then click the Copy Link button to open up the Copy Link dialog box 
                    • Click Copy Link in the right corner of the dialog box, then open this Animate a Name Links Document, find your name, and copy your link
                  • When this is all complete, you can have free time playing educational games or games that are linked through the Moodle

                      • Go to the My Stuff icon next to your user name 
                      • Click on the title of your finished project 
                      • Hit the Share button, and then click the Copy Link button to open up the Copy Link dialog box 
                      • Click Copy Link in the right corner of the dialog box, then open this Shared Google Doc, find your name, copy your link, and then indicate if you had any issues creating your project or things that wouldn't work correctly.  
                    • When this is all complete, you can have free time playing educational games or games that are linked through the Moodle

                      • Log into CS First 
                      • Go into the Pitch Your Passion project and click the Starter Project link on the right to load Scratch
                      • Once Scratch opens, we want to either create a Scratch account if you do not already have one.  If you do, we want to log into your existing account.
                      • Once in, go to File on the menu and load the Scratch project that is saved in Downloads folder that you started last week.  You can now go to File and choose Save Now to have it stored in your online Scratch account

                      • Free choice due to students being out testing

                      • Log into CS First to access the videos
                      • Log into Scratch, to either access the project you already started or to start new -- if you have not already made a Scratch online account, we do to do so 
                      • Work on the Pitch Your Passion project - links to the video are included
                        • Use the videos provided on CS First to learn how to add the required elements to your project 
                      • Work until 11:55 and I will give you free time if you are using your time wisely

                          2. Click "Sign in" in the top right
                          3. Click "I am a student"
                          4. Click "Enter class code"
                          5. Enter class code qp84f2 and click Next and then Yes, Join 
                          6. Choose Yes for the question about needing a new CS First username and password 
                          7. Write down the username and password they provide you on the little sheet I hand out to you
                        • Decide what topic you would like to use for Pitch Your Passion 


                        Wednesday

                        • Open up Chrome and log into your school email 
                        • Complete the Pitch Your Passion Brainstorm activity to help come up with what information you would like to share
                          • Create a Coding Advisory folder in your Google Drive
                          • Open the link about for the brainstorming activity and make a copy in your new Coding Advisory folder
                          • Complete the activity by answering the questions

                        • Watch Speak Out video 
                        • Open your Pitch Your Passion Brainstorm Google Doc activity from yesterday
                          • Finish it if you need to
                          • Read over the answers you gave and try to shorten each of them down into one or two short sentences

                          • Choose Pitch Your Passion activity and if you have not already, click on the Starter Project link to the right of the page
                          • Choose a sprite or character to use for your project 
                          • Begin having your character speak by adding block of text
